enhancements, there will be the following fees:
It is suggested, but not required, that members involved in a transaction on
Big Time Auctions contact each other within three business days after the
listing ends. This does not include weekends or holidays.
Please note that an emergency, illness, or computer problem may keep the
seller from contacting you immediately.
If you are unable to contact the seller via email after a reasonable amount
of time, you are no longer responsible for purchasing the item. At this point,
you might consider leaving feedback to alert other buyers about your experience
with the seller.
Subscription Setup: Select the enable store option, then choose the store
subscription level. Level 1 bronze is a free store subscription. Others have a
monthly fee involved, which is listed next to each.
Main Settings: Enter your store name, store description (html allowed), and
keywords for your store (used for search engine indexing). Find an image for
your store, then click the upload file button. The page will refresh with a
thumbnail of your logo. Select a design template for your store. Then click the
proceed button when your changes are completed.
Store Pages: Enter the number of featured, ending soon, and recently listed
items you want displayed at the top of your store pages. Enter information for
the about us, specials, shipping, and policies pages of your store. Then click
the proceed button when your changes are completed.
Custom Categories: Create a number of custom categories that will be unique
to your store. these categories can only be used for items listed using the
"Store Only" option. After you add custom categories, you must click the
generate categories button for the changes to take effect. Items listed in
auctions will show in your store under the same category as listed for the site.
To prevent having a bunch of categories in your store that do not contain items,
choose only categories that you will be listing items in. If you don't select
any categories for your store, all the site's categories will be available by
default. Otherwise you will only be able to list items in the categories you
have selected for your store. You can add or remove categories at any time in
the future. Click the proceed button when your changes are completed.
You can direct buyers to your store by creating links on web pages outside
of Big Time Auctions, or put your store link in emails you send to your current customers.
If you are the seller of the
item, you can contact the next-highest bidder to see if he/she is still
interested in the item. After a week of trying to get in touch with the
original high bidder, it's perfectly acceptable to move on, even if
extraordinary circumstances have kept the bidder from responding.
If you are the high bidder of the item, your
obligation to purchase the item ends when the seller cannot be reached.
If you have tried email and the message center,
you've done your best. In any case, you can use the feedback system to leave
either neutral or negative feedback about the user, to help other users decide
who to do business with
On rare occasions, a seller encounters a buyer with whom they have a very
negative experience. In that case, they may actually fear the buyer bidding on
their goods. Perhaps the buyer is late with payment, or the buyer left negative
feedback to the seller on something relatively minor.
The banned feature protects the seller's goods from being bid on by anyone
the seller "bans". We don't expect this feature to be used much. It,
does, however, give the seller a bit more protection.
Go to the member center, click on "Block
Users". Enter the information requested in the various steps. To take
someone off your list, just click "Delete".
The "Watch This Item" feature allows
you keep an eye on any auction without having to place a bid on it. This means
you can be kept up to date on how an auction is doing and prepares you to place
a winning last minute bid. You can watch any auction by clicking on the “Watch
This Item” link on any auction page.
Big Time Auctions policy prohibits members from sending spam, which is
defined as an unsolicited, commercial email.
Further definitions:
Unsolicited - it must have been sent without the permission of the
person who received it. Commercial - it discusses the buying, selling or trading of any goods or
services.
Please note that message board posts or instant messaging services that are
not commercial in nature are not considered spam.
Although we do our best to keep such sellers off our site, this problem
does arise occasionally. We recommend that you send details of the transaction
to support@bigtimeauctions.com. Be sure to include
auction number(s), sellers username, date and method of payment, and any other
information that would assist us in our investigation.
We will do our best to mediate a resolution for you, but there is no way
for us to recoup funds for you, or guarantee you any specific results. We ask
that you use "safe" payment methods when making purchases from buyers you are
not familiar with. When we say "safe", we are referring to payments through
Paypal or Google, as you have the chargeback process available for such issues.
We strongly recommend that you do not use cash, money orders, checks, or wire
transfers to pay sellers you are not familiar with, or sellers that have limited
feedback ratings. These payment methods leave little or no recourse for the
buyer, in regards to recouping funds paid to the seller.
Big Time Auctions will thoroughly investigate all such claims, then take appropriate
action against sellers accounts that are not in compliance. We will also take
steps to hinder these persons from signing up to sell on the site again.
We suggest filing complaints with the appropriate agencies below, should Big Time Auctions not be able to resolve your issues.
As most of you know,
malicious attempts to steal online account information is not just an issue
with auction sites, this problem exists everywhere on all types of websites.
Usually, access to sensitive information through email requests that appear to
have been sent from a legitimate source are in fact not real. These emails are
known as Phishing attempts and contain fake links in the hopes that you will
click on the link and submit your personal information. These requests always include
links to websites that request all sorts of personal information such as
banking information, passwords etc.
Big Time Auctions
will never ask you to provide passwords, social security
numbers, credit card numbers or any other sensitive information through email
or any other method.
If we request
information from you this will be done via a phone call placed to you by an Big
Time Auctions management team member easily identifiable to you. If you have
received an email requesting your personal information it’s not from us.
Report Suspicious
Email to Big Time Auctions. If you receive an email requesting your Big Time
Auctions account information that you believe is suspect please forward the
entire email including the message text and full header to us. When forwarding
the message, do not make any changes to the suspect email.
Tips that an email
may not be legitimate:
1. Sender's Email
Address - Spoof email may include a forged email address in the
"From" line, which are similar to but different than a legitimate Big
Time Auctions address.
2. Account Status
Threat - Many phishing emails will attempt to deceive you with the threat that
your account is somehow in jeopardy and you stand the risk of suspension or
account closure if you do not respond. Big Time Auctions has never sent emails
of this type. As stated previously, a Big Time Auctions member will contact you
by phone.
3. Links contained
in an Email - Links which redirect you to a malicious website asking for
personal, sensitive, financial, or other personal information.
4. Creating a Sense
of Urgency - Most phishing or spoof emails will claim that Big Time Auctions is
updating its database or your account information and needs additional
information from you.
5. Do not click on email links that
request personal information. Do not click on a link embedded within
any potentially suspicious email, especially if the email requests personal
information. Instead, try starting a new Internet session with your browser,
typing the Web address of the link into the address bar, and pressing 'Enter'
to be sure you are directed to a legitimate Web site.
